Our Philosophy

You’re spending on digital marketing.
You should know if it’s working.

Most companies have analytics installed. Very few have analytics that actually work — where the data is accurate, the reports answer real questions, and the team knows how to use the data. We build that, end to end, for organizations that are serious about getting it right.

Let’s Talk

What a full engagement looks like

Every full engagement follows six phases. Each one has a clear deliverable. You always know where we are and what comes next.

01

Discovery

You know exactly where you stand — and what it will take to fix it.

Before we touch anything, we learn your business. We review your existing analytics setup, interview your stakeholders, and assess your team's current capabilities. The output is a plain-English findings report and a clearly defined scope of work — with costs and timelines — before you commit to anything. No surprises later.

02

Measurement Planning

Every data point has a purpose tied to a real business decision.

Most analytics implementations collect data that nobody ever uses. We start by asking: what decisions does your business actually make, and what data would make those decisions easier? The result is a written measurement plan that connects your analytics to your objectives — so we're building something useful, not just something that technically works.

03

Instrumentation

Your analytics is set up correctly. Your team doesn't need to know how.

We implement everything — analytics, tag management, conversion tracking, ad platform integrations, and more. We're platform-agnostic and work within whatever technology stack you have. Your team doesn't need to know what a data layer is. That's our job. You get a properly built analytics environment, documented and ready to use.

04

Validation

You have data you can actually trust.

A dashboard that looks good but quietly lies to you is worse than no dashboard at all. Before anything goes live, we run automated and manual tests against every tracked event to confirm the data is accurate. We use Selenium-based testing and network analysis to catch problems early, when they're cheap to fix. You sign off on a validated implementation.

05

Visualization & Reporting

Your decision-makers have the information they need, in a format they'll actually use.

We build dashboards in the tool that fits your team — Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or others. Reports are designed around the questions your stakeholders actually ask, not the default views that come out of the box. Branded, clear, and updated automatically. No one has to pull data manually.

06

Storytelling

Your team knows what the data means and what to do about it.

Data that sits in a dashboard and never changes anyone's behavior is wasted. We present findings in plain language, connect the numbers to your business context, and help your team build the habit of using data to make decisions. This is where analytics investments actually pay off.

What you’ll have when we’re done

At the end of a full engagement, you don’t just have better reports. You have a functioning analytics operation — the infrastructure, the documentation, and the organizational capability to keep it working.

  • A fully instrumented analytics environment your team can trust
  • A written measurement plan tied to your specific business objectives
  • Accurate conversion and engagement tracking across all your key digital properties
  • Dashboards and automated reports built around decisions your team actually makes
  • Complete documentation of your analytics implementation — you own it
  • A team that understands what your data means and what to do with it
  • Privacy and compliance review (GDPR, CCPA) so you're not exposed

Beyond the Initial Engagement

Analytics is not a one-time project.

Good analytics is a cycle, not a checklist. You collect data, analyze what it tells you, form a hypothesis, act on it — and then collect data again to see if you were right. Each pass makes the next one more valuable. That only works if your measurement is reliable at every turn.

Websites change. Campaigns launch. Platforms update. Data breaks in quiet ways that nobody notices until the decisions made from it turn out to be wrong. Keeping the cycle intact requires ongoing attention — not just a one-time implementation.

Many of our clients retain us after the initial engagement to keep their analytics healthy over time. An ongoing partnership means you have analytics leadership without the cost of a full-time hire — someone who knows your implementation, monitors for problems, and keeps the measurement cycle running cleanly.

Ask About Ongoing Support

Our Story

Confidence Interval was established in September 2012 with one core belief: good decisions come from good data. We bring a scientific approach to web analytics consulting — forming hypotheses, measuring outcomes, and continuously refining our methods based on what the data reveals.

Our approach involves making clear recommendations, predicting outcomes, and then rigorously analyzing the difference between our predictions and actual results. This feedback loop is what makes our analytics practice truly accountable.

We work with businesses of all sizes to help them control their data, understand what it means, and actively use it to drive their online marketing and sales strategy forward.

Our Team

Every member of our team is based in the United States, and well over 95% are full-time employees — not contractors. When you work with Confidence Interval, you work with people who are deeply invested in the firm’s work and culture, not a rotating cast of freelancers assembled for a single engagement.

Our team skews senior. Most of our analysts bring years of hands-on experience across a wide range of industries and platforms, which means client engagements benefit from pattern recognition and judgment that only comes with time in the field.

We do invest in junior talent, but deliberately and carefully. At Confidence Interval, junior team members are viewed as an investment in the future of the firm — not as a source of billable margin. They are mentored closely and continuously by our senior practitioners, working alongside experienced analysts on real client work rather than being handed projects independently before they’re ready.
